Affton is a suburban area in located in the inner ring of St. Louis. There are currently no distressed properties listed in Affton, which accounts for the price stability in this area. While Affton is known as the location of the farm and house of Ulysses S. Oakville and Mehlville are bedroom communities of St. Louis, with newer contemporary suburban homes that have an average listing price of $197,230 and a median sales price of $135,000 in September 2011. This represents modest depreciation in home values from the highs of the housing bubble.
Lemay is another suburban community in the South County district of modern homes, townhouses, and condominiums with a median sales price of $76,840 in September 2011. The home values in this have remained stable during the past year.
